The opening trio of songs are stunning starting with a great version of Little Feat's Sailin' Shoes through Palmer's own Hey Julia to the Toussaint penned Sneakin' Sally. I believe Robert Palmer never courted success simply chose different styles of music some of which caught the public's imagination some didn't, but this is the music where I believe his voice really excelled the r'n'b and soul influences in this album show someone who is far too underrated as a singer. This remastered version also includes 2 alternate takes: Get Outside and blackmail, a single version of the the title track and a rare b side: Epidemic, whilst its good to have these tracks as additional background the 8 tracks of the original album are more than enough to warrant the purchase. In superb voice and backed by a stellar line of musicians including Little Feat this album gets better and better the more you listen. Roberts Palmer's first solo album still sounds as good today as it did on its 1974 release.
